About Volkswagen Viloran
The Volkswagen Viloran is a large seven-seat MPV developed and produced by SAIC Volkswagen in China. Launched in May 2020, it was created mainly for the Chinese market, where spacious people carriers are used for business and family travel. It later reached selected Asian markets, including Vietnam.
Built on Volkswagen Group’s MQB architecture, the Viloran has a long body, a three-row 2+2+3 seating layout and sliding rear doors. Its defining feature is the passenger-focused cabin: separate second-row seats, generous space and extensive comfort equipment give it a more executive character than a conventional family minivan.
The model remains in its first generation. A substantially updated version debuted in late 2021 for the 2022 model year, bringing MQB Evo-based electronics, revised cabin technology and styling changes rather than an entirely new design. Depending on market and year, the range has included 330TSI and 380TSI versions with 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engines, dual-clutch transmissions and front-wheel drive.
Within Volkswagen’s passenger-car range, the Viloran occupies the upper end of the MPV class. It is known for comfortable long-distance travel, easy rear access and strong second-row accommodation, combining full-size passenger capacity with an executive-oriented presentation.
