About Volkswagen Transporter
The Volkswagen Transporter is a medium-sized commercial vehicle introduced in 1950 as the Volkswagen Type 2. Developed after the Beetle, it became the foundation of Volkswagen’s commercial-vehicle business and one of the brand’s most recognisable model lines. Seven generations, commonly identified as T1 to T7, have progressively updated the original cab-forward van concept. Passenger and leisure derivatives have historically included names such as Caravelle, Multivan and California.
