About Volkswagen T-Cross

The Volkswagen T-Cross is a small crossover SUV unveiled in 2018 and launched in 2019 as an entry point to Volkswagen’s SUV range. Closely related to the Polo and based on the MQB A0 platform, it combines supermini-sized dimensions with a taller body, raised seating position and five-door practicality. It is positioned among the brand’s smallest SUVs, below the larger T-Roc and Tiguan.

The T-Cross remains in its first core generation. A substantial update introduced in early 2024 brought revised styling and lighting, a redesigned dashboard, digital instruments and newer infotainment. Depending on the market and model year, versions have included Life, Style and R-Line specifications. Most use turbocharged petrol engines and front-wheel drive, although diesel and region-specific powertrains have also been offered.

European production is centred at Volkswagen’s Navarra plant in Spain alongside the Polo, while tailored versions have been manufactured for South America and China. Related regional models have also used the Taigun and Tacqua names. The T-Cross is known for efficient packaging, easy access and everyday versatility, supported by a sliding rear bench that can adjust the balance between passenger and luggage space.
