About Volkswagen ID. Cross
The Volkswagen ID. Cross is a battery-electric compact SUV developed as the electric counterpart to the T-Cross and as an accessible entry into Volkswagen’s electric SUV range. It was previewed by the ID. CROSS Concept at the IAA Mobility show in September 2025, followed by the production model’s unveiling in July 2026. As an all-new nameplate, it remains in its first generation.
Based on the front-wheel-drive MEB+ platform, the ID. Cross forms part of the Volkswagen Group’s Electric Urban Car Family. Production is planned at Volkswagen Navarra in Pamplona, Spain, with its European market launch scheduled for autumn 2026. Within the brand’s line-up, it sits below the larger ID.4 and alongside the ID. Polo, combining small-SUV dimensions with a five-seat cabin and practical luggage capacity.
The range includes Trend, Life and Style equipment lines. Depending on version, power outputs are 85, 99 or 155 kW, paired with 37 or 52 kWh net battery packs. The longest-range configuration is rated at up to 427 km under the WLTP cycle. Notable qualities include efficient use of interior space, a 475-litre boot plus a small front luggage compartment, straightforward controls, fast-charging capability and the availability of comfort and driver-assistance features usually associated with larger vehicles.
