About Volkswagen ID. Buzz
The Volkswagen ID. Buzz is a battery-electric people carrier and light commercial vehicle developed by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. Unveiled in production form in 2022, it is built in Hanover, Germany, on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB electric-vehicle platform. Its styling draws on the cab-forward proportions and two-tone finishes associated with the original Volkswagen Type 2, while using a modern dedicated electric layout.
The range includes the passenger-focused ID. Buzz and the ID. Buzz Cargo panel van. Depending on the market, passenger models are offered with standard or long wheelbases and seating for five, six or seven occupants. The Cargo version prioritises load space and business use. Rear-wheel drive is common, while selected versions use dual-motor 4MOTION all-wheel drive.
The GTX is the performance-oriented variation, combining all-wheel drive with distinct exterior and interior details. Battery capacities, power outputs, seating layouts and trim levels vary by country and model year.
The ID. Buzz remains in its first generation. Within Volkswagen’s range, it combines the space and flexibility of a van-based MPV with the electric technology of the ID. family. It is particularly known for its distinctive design, short overhangs, spacious cabin, sliding side doors and versatile passenger or cargo configurations.
