About Volkswagen ID. AURA T6
The Volkswagen ID. AURA T6 is a fully electric, five-seat mid-size SUV developed by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture specifically for China. It is the first production model in the new ID. AURA series, whose direction was previewed by the ID. AURA concept in 2025. The T6 made its world premiere in April 2026 and entered Chinese presales in August 2026.
As the first generation of a new nameplate, the ID. AURA T6 has no direct predecessor or earlier versions. It is based on Volkswagen Group’s locally developed China Electronic Architecture, which uses central computing and zonal control to support connected services, whole-vehicle over-the-air updates and advanced driver assistance.
The initial range comprises 540 Pro, 660 Pro, 660 Max and 660 Ultra versions. The numbers refer to the stated 540 km and 660 km CLTC driving-range categories, while the higher specifications add lidar-based assistance hardware and further comfort and technology equipment.
