About VinFast LUX A2.0
The VinFast LUX A2.0 is an executive-class four-door sedan developed as one of VinFast’s first production cars. Unveiled at the 2018 Paris Motor Show and launched in Vietnam in 2019, it helped establish the Vietnamese manufacturer’s original passenger-car range alongside the LUX SA2.0 SUV and the smaller Fadil hatchback.
The model uses engineering derived from the F10-generation BMW 5 Series, with exterior styling by Pininfarina. Production took place at VinFast’s Hai Phong factory. Its mechanical layout combines a front-mounted 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, giving it a more traditional executive-sedan configuration than many mainstream front-wheel-drive rivals.
VinFast offered the LUX A2.0 in Base, Plus and Premium versions, also described in some markets as Standard, Advanced and Luxury grades. Equipment, wheel sizes, interior materials and driver-assistance features varied by trim. The Premium version also received the higher-output engine tune, while all versions shared the same basic body, drivetrain layout and long-wheelbase cabin.
Positioned near the upper end of VinFast’s combustion-engine lineup, the LUX A2.0 is mainly known for its large dimensions, distinctive V-shaped lighting design, spacious interior and European-derived chassis. Production ended in 2022 as VinFast phased out petrol vehicles and shifted its range towards battery-electric models.
