About Toyota Wish
The Toyota Wish is a compact three-row MPV introduced in Japan in January 2003. It combined the seating flexibility of a minivan with a relatively low roofline, car-like proportions and restrained exterior dimensions. Designed mainly for Japan and selected Asian markets, it appealed to families seeking more passenger capacity without moving to a larger, taller people carrier.
Toyota produced the Wish in two generations. The original model established the basic formula of flexible seating, practical load space and a more dynamic appearance than a conventional minivan. The second generation arrived in April 2009 with updated styling, improved cabin packaging and revised petrol powertrains. Later updates refreshed its equipment and appearance, while production continued until 2017.
Depending on model year and market, the Wish was offered with 1.8- or 2.0-litre engines, front- or four-wheel drive, and six- or seven-seat layouts. Versions ranged from practical family-focused grades to sportier variants with distinctive trim and chassis settings. Within Toyota’s range, it occupied the space between a passenger wagon and a full-size minivan. It is chiefly known for adaptable three-row accommodation, manageable dimensions, straightforward controls and everyday usability.
