About Toyota Venza
The Toyota Venza is a five-seat, two-row crossover known for combining passenger-car comfort with SUV-style ride height, cargo capacity and available or standard all-wheel drive. It has appeared in two distinct generations, both aimed primarily at North American buyers seeking a more road-focused alternative to a traditional SUV.
Introduced for the 2009 model year, the first generation was designed, engineered and assembled in the United States. Built in Georgetown, Kentucky, it used a wide, low-profile body and offered four-cylinder or V6 power, front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Later versions adopted the familiar LE, XLE and Limited grade structure. US sales ended after the 2015 model year.
The Venza returned for 2021 as a substantially different vehicle closely related to the Japanese-market Toyota Harrier. This generation was built in Japan and positioned as a refined midsize crossover with a sleeker shape and a quieter, more premium-style cabin than many mainstream utility models. Every US version used a four-cylinder hybrid system with electronic on-demand all-wheel drive. Grades included LE, XLE and Limited, with a black-accented Nightshade edition added later.
Toyota discontinued the Venza in the United States after the 2024 model year. Across both generations, it is best known for car-like road manners, practical two-row accommodation and styling that places greater emphasis on comfort and design than rugged capability.
