About Toyota Tundra
The Toyota Tundra is a full-size, body-on-frame pickup developed primarily for North America. Production began in Indiana in 1999 for the 2000 model year, making it the first full-size pickup from a Japanese manufacturer to be built in North America. Assembly later moved to Toyota’s San Antonio, Texas, plant, where the model continues to be produced.
Three generations have been introduced. The first established Toyota in the full-size truck class, while the larger second generation broadened its towing, payload and passenger capabilities. The third generation arrived for 2022 with a new platform, twin-turbocharged V6 engines, an available i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain, coil-spring rear suspension and updated cabin technology.
The range includes Double Cab and CrewMax body styles, multiple bed lengths, rear- or four-wheel drive, and grades covering varied uses. SR and SR5 versions suit general work and utility needs, while Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition and Capstone models add comfort and luxury features. TRD packages and the TRD Pro provide additional equipment for off-road driving.
Positioned above the midsize Tacoma, the Tundra is Toyota’s largest pickup and its competitor in the North American full-size truck market. It is known for combining substantial towing and hauling ability with everyday usability, a spacious cabin and Toyota’s established focus on durability.
