About Toyota T100
The Toyota T100 was a pickup developed mainly for North America and sold for the 1993–1998 model years. It gave Toyota a larger alternative to its compact Pickup while remaining smaller than many traditional American full-size trucks. This positioning made it an important step in the brand’s move towards the full-size pickup market.
The T100 used body-on-frame construction and was available with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The range included regular-cab models and, from 1995, the extended Xtracab, which added space behind the front seats. Depending on year and market, it offered four-cylinder or V6 engines, manual or automatic transmissions, and base, DX and SR5 equipment levels.
Toyota’s historical archive divides the T100 into 1993–1994 and updated 1995–1998 groups, although the model retained the same basic identity throughout its production run. The 1995 update introduced the Xtracab and a more powerful 3.4-litre V6, widening its suitability for work, towing and recreational use.
The T100 is known for practical dimensions, a long cargo bed, straightforward mechanical design and a reputation for durability. It occupied the space between Toyota’s smaller pickups and the later Tundra, which replaced it with a larger, more conventional full-size format.
