About Toyota Sienta

The Toyota Sienta is a compact minivan introduced in Japan in September 2003. It combines the manageable dimensions of a small car with the passenger space and access features of an MPV. Within Toyota’s range, it sits below larger minivans and serves families and urban drivers who need more seating flexibility than a conventional hatchback or compact SUV can provide.

Three generations debuted in 2003, 2015 and 2022. The second generation adopted more distinctive styling and added a hybrid powertrain. The third generation retained the model’s compact proportions while introducing a TNGA-based platform, a more upright cabin and a simple, rounded design. Depending on the market and model year, the Sienta has been offered with five-, six- or seven-seat layouts, petrol or hybrid powertrains, front-wheel drive and selected all-wheel-drive configurations.

The Sienta is known for its sliding rear doors, low entry height, flexible seating and efficient use of interior space. Its tall body provides useful passenger and luggage room without making it difficult to manoeuvre on narrow streets. Accessible Welcab versions have also been produced in Japan. Primarily associated with the Japanese market and sold in selected Asian countries, the Sienta occupies a practical niche between compact passenger cars and full-size family minivans.
