About Toyota Proace
The Toyota Proace is a medium-sized light commercial vehicle introduced in Europe in 2013 as the successor to the Hiace in this market segment. Developed through Toyota’s cooperation with PSA Peugeot Citroën, now part of Stellantis, it shares its basic engineering with related European vans and is produced in France.
The first generation was sold from 2013 to 2016 in panel van and crew-cab forms, with different body lengths and roof heights. A second generation arrived in 2016 with broader coverage of the medium-van market. It added Compact, Medium and Long bodies, along with panel van, crew cab, combi, platform cab and Proace Verso passenger versions. Battery-electric models later joined the diesel range.
A substantially updated Proace was introduced for 2024, bringing revised Toyota family styling, newer cabin technology and expanded driver-assistance equipment. Depending on the market, current versions include medium and long vans, crew cabs and chassis-based models for specialist conversions, with diesel or battery-electric power.
Within Toyota Professional’s commercial-vehicle range, the Proace sits between the smaller Proace City and the larger Proace Max. It is known for practical load space, configurable body styles, sliding side doors and car-like driving characteristics, making it suitable for trades, delivery fleets, passenger transport and converted applications.
