About Suzuki Verona
The Suzuki Verona was a mid-size four-door sedan sold in the United States for the 2004–2006 model years. It gave Suzuki a larger, more conventional passenger car above the compact Forenza, complementing a range otherwise better known for small cars and SUVs.
Rather than being developed solely by Suzuki, the Verona was a version of the Daewoo Magnus, manufactured in South Korea by GM Daewoo. Related versions appeared in other markets under names such as Chevrolet Epica and Daewoo Evanda. The Verona covered a single generation and received only minor equipment and trim changes during its short production run. Early models were offered in S, LX and EX grades, while the 2006 range was simplified to base and Luxury versions.
All US-market Veronas used a 2.5-litre, 24-valve inline-six engine with a four-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The six-cylinder layout was unusual in its value-oriented segment, where four-cylinder engines were common. The model was also known for its spacious five-seat cabin, restrained styling and generous standard equipment. Its competitive pricing positioned it as an alternative to established family sedans, but sales remained limited and Suzuki discontinued it after 2006.
