About Suzuki Palette
The Suzuki Palette is a tall kei wagon developed primarily for the Japanese market. Launched in January 2008, it expanded Suzuki’s minicar range with a stronger focus on passenger space, easy access and flexible everyday use. Its upright five-door body, long roofline and low-floor platform created a roomy four-seat cabin within kei-car size limits.
Only one generation was produced, from January 2008 to February 2013. The defining features were sliding rear doors on both sides, low entry steps and rear seats that folded into the floor to enlarge the load area. These qualities made the Palette particularly suitable for urban driving, families and users who valued accessibility over compact exterior dimensions.
The range included regular Palette models and the Palette SW, introduced in September 2009 with a more assertive front design and sportier trim. Depending on year and grade, versions used naturally aspirated or turbocharged 658 cc petrol engines, front- or four-wheel drive, and automatic or continuously variable transmissions.
Within Suzuki’s lineup, the Palette occupied the spacious tall-wagon position rather than serving as a basic city car. It is known mainly for practical packaging, good visibility, convenient rear access and efficient use of limited road space. Production ended in February 2013, with the Spacia continuing Suzuki’s tall kei-wagon concept from March that year.
