About Suzuki KingQuad
The Suzuki KingQuad is a range of four-wheel utility ATVs designed for work, trail riding and general outdoor use. The name first appeared in 1991 on a 280 cc model developed from Suzuki’s earlier QuadRunner 4WD. It offered increased capacity and fully independent suspension, establishing the practical, all-terrain character associated with the range.
After an interval, the KingQuad name returned for 2005 on the fuel-injected KingQuad 700. Later development produced the 750 and 500 families, while the smaller 400 models broadened the range. Suzuki does not divide the KingQuad into formally numbered generations, but its main eras include the original 1990s machines, the large-bore 700 revival and the later AXi utility models.
Major variations include the 400ASi with automatic transmission, the 400FSi with a five-speed semi-automatic arrangement, and the larger automatic 500AXi and 750AXi. Depending on model and market, versions may add electronic power steering, camouflage bodywork, alloy wheels or Special Edition equipment.
Within Suzuki’s lineup, the KingQuad occupies the adult utility and utility-sport ATV category rather than the youth or racing segment. Modern examples are manufactured in Rome, Georgia, for the US and export markets.
