About Suzuki Intruder
The Suzuki Intruder is a family of cruiser motorcycles introduced in 1985 with the VS750. It established Suzuki in the American-style V-twin cruiser class, combining a low seat, long profile, prominent chrome detailing and relaxed riding position. The early VS series also became known for relatively slim styling and shaft drive on its larger models.
Rather than following one continuous series of generations, the Intruder developed through several related branches. Major versions included the VS750 and VS800 middleweights, the large VS1400, the touring-oriented VL1500 LC and later classic and performance-focused models. Smaller 125, 250 and 400 variants were offered in selected markets. At the top of the range, the M1800R adopted a 1,783 cc V-twin and more muscular, sport-influenced engineering.
From 2005, many North American Intruder models were renamed under Suzuki’s Boulevard range, while the Intruder name continued in Europe and other regions. Equivalent motorcycles could therefore carry different badges depending on market and year. Across its variations, the Intruder is chiefly associated with strong low-speed V-twin character, accessible seat heights, substantial road presence and a broad choice ranging from compact cruisers to heavyweight touring and power-cruiser models.
