About Suzuki GSR
The Suzuki GSR name was used for a series of naked road motorcycles combining sportbike-influenced engineering with upright ergonomics and everyday road manners. The range emerged in the mid-2000s, positioned between Suzuki’s fully faired GSX-R machines and more traditional street and touring models.
The closely related GSR400 and GSR600 arrived in 2006. The 400 was aimed mainly at Japan and used a fuel-injected 398 cc inline-four, while the 599 cc GSR600 was developed primarily for overseas markets, particularly Europe. Both were known for distinctive bodywork, exposed frames, high-mounted exhausts and responsive handling. ABS versions were offered in addition to standard models.
The GSR750 replaced the GSR600 in overseas markets from 2011 and reached Japan in 2013. It retained the naked-roadster format but added a 749 cc inline-four derived from the GSX-R750 and tuned for stronger low- and mid-range response. Separately, the GSR250 joined the range in 2012 as a more accessible twin-cylinder model; it was also sold as the GW250 or Inazuma in many markets, with faired variations available.
Rather than one continuous generation, the GSR line covered several related street-bike concepts. Across its versions, it is chiefly associated with angular styling, practical riding positions and a balance of urban usability and sporting character.
