About Suzuki Forenza
The Suzuki Forenza was a compact passenger car sold in the United States for the 2004–2008 model years. Although it carried Suzuki branding, it was developed and built in South Korea by GM Daewoo and was closely related to the globally marketed Daewoo Lacetti. The model gave Suzuki an affordable, conventionally designed entry in the compact-car segment.
The Forenza was offered as a four-door sedan throughout its run, with a five-door station wagon added for 2005. Both used front-wheel drive and a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, paired with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. Early versions were sold in S, LX and EX trims, while later model years used simplified equipment and package combinations. Changes during production were limited mainly to styling, interior trim and feature availability rather than major mechanical redesigns.
Only one Forenza generation was marketed under the Suzuki name. It is known for its Italian-influenced exterior styling, straightforward mechanical layout and practical cabin. The wagon provided additional cargo flexibility that was uncommon among inexpensive compact cars of the period. Positioned as a value-focused model, the Forenza generally emphasised standard comfort equipment and usable space rather than performance or advanced technology.
