About Suzuki Brezza
Suzuki Brezza is a sub-four-metre compact SUV developed primarily for India by Maruti Suzuki, Suzuki’s Indian subsidiary. Introduced in 2016 as the Vitara Brezza, it established the company in India’s expanding compact SUV segment. Despite its original name, it was an India-focused model rather than a shortened global Vitara.
The first generation combined SUV-style bodywork and a raised driving position with city-friendly dimensions. It launched with diesel power, while a 2020 update introduced a 1.5-litre petrol engine and automatic transmission.
A full model change arrived in 2022 under the shorter Brezza name. The second generation retained the five-door compact format while adding revised styling, a more modern cabin and upgraded comfort, connectivity and safety features. Petrol manual and automatic versions formed the main range, followed by a factory CNG variant in 2023. A further update in 2026 refreshed the design and broadened the powertrain choice.
The Brezza occupies a mainstream urban SUV position within Maruti Suzuki’s range. It is known for practical packaging, everyday usability, efficient powertrains and broad market acceptance.
