About Suzuki Bandit
The Suzuki Bandit is a family of standard road motorcycles introduced in 1989. Early 250 cc and 400 cc models established its simple naked-bike formula, while later 600, 650, 1200 and 1250 cc versions brought the name to wider international markets. Most models used the GSF designation and inline-four engines.
Rather than following one continuous specification, the Bandit evolved through several capacity classes and model generations. The air/oil-cooled 600 and 1200 became especially prominent during the 1990s and early 2000s. They were followed by updated 650 and 1250 versions, with the 2007 generation adopting liquid cooling, fuel injection and six-speed transmissions. Buyers could choose between unfaired models and S versions with a half fairing, while selected later variants offered ABS. A fully faired 1250F also extended the range towards sport touring.
Within Suzuki’s lineup, the Bandit occupied the practical middle ground between everyday transport, traditional naked motorcycles and sport tourers. It is known for upright ergonomics, straightforward engineering and flexible performance rather than specialised racing ability. Larger versions earned a reputation for strong low- and mid-range torque, while the smaller models offered a lighter, more accessible interpretation of the same all-round road-bike concept.
