About smart #6
The smart #6 is a mid-size fastback sedan introduced in China in June 2026. It is the brand’s first production sedan and its largest model to date, moving smart beyond the compact crossovers and city cars for which it is better known. Initially offered only in China, it targets the premium family and executive-car market.
Sold as the #6 EHD, the model uses smart’s Electric Hybrid Drive plug-in hybrid system, combining a turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor. At launch, the range comprised three grades: 1675 Pro, 1810 Max and 1810 Ultra. Two lithium iron phosphate battery sizes provide different electric-only and combined driving ranges. The model names reflect claimed total range under China’s CLTC test cycle, which is not directly comparable with WLTP or EPA figures.
The exterior was created by the Mercedes-Benz global design team and features a long, aerodynamic roofline, frameless doors and a near five-metre body. The cabin emphasises passenger space, digital displays and connected functions, while all launch versions include lidar-based driver-assistance hardware.
Within smart’s line-up, the #6 sits above the #1, #3 and #5 in size and broadens the brand into the competitive Chinese new-energy sedan segment. It is chiefly known for combining long-distance hybrid capability, a spacious interior and fastback styling rather than following smart’s traditional small-car formula.
