About smart #5
The smart #5 is a five-seat mid-size SUV that substantially expanded the brand beyond its traditional small urban cars. Unveiled in 2024 and introduced across European and other international markets from 2025, it joined the smaller #1 SUV and #3 SUV coupé as smart’s largest and most spacious model.
Created within the Mercedes-Benz and Geely joint venture and styled by Mercedes-Benz Design, the #5 is positioned as a premium family vehicle with a stronger focus on long-distance travel and outdoor use. Its upright body, 2.9-metre wheelbase and short overhangs provide a roomy cabin while retaining recognisable smart design details.
Versions vary by market and include Pro, Pro+, Premium, Pulse, outdoor-oriented Summit Edition and high-performance BRABUS models. The battery-electric range offers rear- or all-wheel drive, with 76 kWh and 100 kWh battery options; higher-specification versions use an 800-volt electrical platform for rapid charging. China also received the #5 EHD plug-in hybrid in 2025. Notable qualities include flexible interior space, extensive digital displays and assistance systems, strong charging capability and a broader range of comfort, adventure and performance configurations than earlier smart models.
