About Saturn VUE
The Saturn VUE was a five-door compact crossover SUV sold for the 2002–2010 model years. It was Saturn’s first SUV and broadened a line-up previously centred on passenger cars. Its unibody construction, two-row seating and useful cargo space made it an everyday family vehicle rather than a traditional off-roader.
The first generation was built in Spring Hill, Tennessee, on GM’s Theta architecture. It retained distinctive Saturn features, including dent-resistant polymer side panels. Depending on model year, it offered four-cylinder or V6 power, front- or all-wheel drive, and manual or automatic transmissions. Notable versions included the performance-oriented Red Line and the fuel-focused Green Line mild hybrid. Some 2004–2007 V6 models used a Honda-supplied 3.5-litre engine and transmission.
A redesigned VUE arrived for 2008. Derived from the Opel Antara and assembled in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, it adopted conventional steel bodywork and a more international GM design. The range included XE and XR trims, plus Red Line and Green Line variants, with several engine and drivetrain configurations.
Within Saturn’s later range, the VUE sat below the larger OUTLOOK and became one of the brand’s best-selling models. It is mainly known for compact dimensions, flexible utility, broad powertrain choice and unusual sport and hybrid versions.
