About Rolls-Royce Ghost
The Rolls-Royce Ghost is a four-door super-luxury saloon positioned below the larger Phantom in the brand’s range. Introduced in 2009, it was designed as a more compact and understated Rolls-Royce while retaining the marque’s emphasis on craftsmanship, personalisation and quiet, smooth travel. Built at Goodwood, England, it suits both owner-driven and chauffeur-driven use.
The first generation remained in production until 2019. Key variations included the longer-wheelbase Ghost Extended, introduced in 2011, the updated Series II of 2014 and the more performance-focused Black Badge version launched in 2016. The second generation arrived in 2020 on Rolls-Royce’s aluminium Architecture of Luxury. Extended and Black Badge derivatives followed, and a Series II update was introduced in 2024.
Current Ghost models use a twin-turbocharged V12 engine and all-wheel drive. Ghost Extended provides more rear-seat space, while Black Badge Ghost combines darker detailing with a more responsive driving character. Within the Rolls-Royce line-up, Ghost is known for blending formal presence and bespoke cabin quality with a less imposing footprint and greater driver focus than Phantom. Its notable qualities include strong refinement, effortless performance, advanced ride technology and wide scope for individual specification.
