About Rolls-Royce Dawn
The Rolls-Royce Dawn is a full-size, four-seat luxury convertible introduced in 2015 and produced at Goodwood, England, until 2023. Its name recalls the rare Silver Dawn drophead models of the early 1950s, but the modern car was developed as a distinct open-top model for the contemporary Rolls-Royce range.
Positioned alongside the Wraith coupé, the Dawn offered a more relaxed and sociable interpretation of the brand’s grand-touring formula. Unlike many luxury convertibles with occasional rear seats, it provided individual seating and useful space for four adults. A multi-layer fabric roof was designed to preserve the quietness and refinement expected of a Rolls-Royce when closed.
Power came from a 6.6-litre twin-turbocharged V12 paired with an automatic transmission. The standard Dawn prioritised smooth performance, ride comfort and effortless cruising. Introduced in 2017, the Black Badge Dawn added more power, increased torque, sharper responses and darker exterior and interior details.
The model is particularly known for its imposing proportions, extensive bespoke personalisation, handcrafted cabin and combination of open-air driving with long-distance comfort. It became the best-selling drophead model in Rolls-Royce history and occupied a distinctive position as the brand’s modern four-seat convertible.
