About Ram ProMaster Rapid
The Ram ProMaster Rapid was a compact cargo van sold mainly in Mexico from 2017 to 2024. It was Ram’s version of the Brazilian-built Fiat Fiorino, sharing its car-derived platform and most of its body, cabin and mechanical components. Despite the ProMaster name, it was substantially smaller than Ram’s full-size commercial van.
Designed for urban deliveries, trades and small businesses, the ProMaster Rapid combined a short exterior with an enclosed two-seat cargo area. Mexican-market models were generally offered with a 1.4-litre petrol engine and five-speed manual transmission. The later version provided 3.3 cubic metres of cargo volume and a rated payload of 650 kg.
The range remained focused on a straightforward panel-van configuration rather than multiple passenger or body-length variants. A major update arrived for the 2022 model year, bringing a redesigned front end, a revised dashboard and prominent Ram grille lettering. Known for manoeuvrability, simple construction and practical load space, the ProMaster Rapid occupied the entry-level position in Ram’s Mexican commercial line-up. It was replaced in Mexico by the closely related Peugeot Partner Rapid during 2024 as Stellantis reorganised its commercial-vehicle brands.
