About Ram ProMaster

The Ram ProMaster is a full-size commercial van introduced in North America for the 2014 model year. Based on the Fiat Ducato and adapted for regional requirements, it marked Ram’s return to the purpose-built large-van segment. Production began in 2013 at the Saltillo Van Assembly Plant in Mexico.

Within the Ram lineup, the ProMaster serves as the main enclosed work vehicle alongside the brand’s pickups and chassis-cab trucks. It is aimed primarily at trades, delivery services, fleets and specialist conversions. Cargo van models are offered in 1500, 2500 and 3500 series, with several wheelbases, body lengths and roof heights. Window van, cutaway and chassis-based configurations have also been available, while the battery-electric ProMaster EV extends the range beyond conventional petrol-powered versions.

Unlike many traditional North American vans, the ProMaster uses front-wheel drive and unibody construction. This layout contributes to a low load floor and leaves a broad, practical cargo area with relatively upright sides. Its configuration range supports shelving, mobile workshops, delivery bodies, camper conversions and other upfits. The model is chiefly known for cargo space, easy loading and the ability to be tailored to different commercial roles.
