About Ram C/V
Ram C/V (Cargo Van) was a compact, front-wheel-drive cargo van sold for the 2012–2015 model years. It transferred the earlier Dodge Grand Caravan C/V concept to the standalone Ram commercial range, retaining the Grand Caravan’s minivan-based structure while replacing the rear passenger area with a flat, work-focused load space. It was built alongside Chrysler minivans in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
Marketed chiefly as the C/V Tradesman, it targeted small businesses, delivery services, trades and fleets that needed enclosed cargo capacity without the size of a full-size van. Variations centred on cargo configuration rather than conventional trim levels, with solid or glazed side and rear panels, alternative load-floor arrangements and scope for commercial upfits.
Power came from a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Key features included dual sliding side doors, a low loading height, up to 155.5 cubic feet of cargo volume, payload capacity of up to 1,800 lb and towing capacity of up to 3,600 lb when properly equipped. Commercial-tuned suspension, heavy-duty cooling and available in-floor storage supported its working role.
Within Ram’s lineup, the C/V sat below larger commercial vans as a more manoeuvrable light-duty option. Production ended after 2015, with the ProMaster City succeeding it in the compact cargo-van position.
