About Porsche Cayenne
The Porsche Cayenne is a luxury performance SUV introduced in 2002 as the brand’s first SUV. It expanded Porsche beyond traditional sports cars by combining five-seat practicality, generous cargo space and all-wheel-drive versatility with the performance and handling associated with the marque. It has since become a central part of Porsche’s model range.
Initial production involved Bratislava and final assembly in Leipzig. Complete production moved to Bratislava with the third generation in 2017. The fourth-generation Cayenne Electric entered production there in 2026 alongside combustion-engine and plug-in hybrid versions.
The model family includes the conventional SUV and the lower-roof Cayenne Coupé. Depending on year and market, versions have included standard, S, GTS and Turbo models, plus hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric derivatives. Diesel engines were also offered in earlier generations.
Within Porsche’s lineup, the Cayenne sits above the smaller Macan and provides a more spacious alternative to the brand’s sports cars and saloons. It is known for strong road performance, refined interiors and everyday usability, while selected versions place greater emphasis on off-road ability, efficiency or sharper chassis dynamics.
