About Pontiac Sunburst
The Pontiac Sunburst was a small front-wheel-drive car sold mainly in Canada during the mid-to-late 1980s. Introduced for 1985, it was a Japanese-built model based on the Isuzu Gemini, which was also marketed in North America as the Isuzu I-Mark and Chevrolet Spectrum. It gave Canadian Pontiac dealers an economical subcompact developed through General Motors’ international partnerships.
The Sunburst had a single generation and was available as a four-door sedan or three-door hatchback. Its principal engine was a 1.5-litre four-cylinder, with manual and automatic transmissions offered depending on specification.
