About Nissan Trade

The Nissan Trade was a European light commercial vehicle produced in Spain by Nissan Motor Ibérica from 1986 to 2001. It evolved from the Ebro F-series, whose basic design dated to 1976, and entered the Nissan range after the company took control of the Spanish manufacturer Ebro.

Designed primarily for professional use, the Trade used a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout and was offered in several configurations. These included panel vans, chassis cabs, pickups, crew-cab models and the glazed Trade Combi minibus. Long-wheelbase and high-roof versions were sold under the Trade Largo name, providing additional passenger or cargo capacity.

Rather than passing through several completely new generations, the Trade retained the same underlying platform while receiving substantial updates. The PF-series Nissan version introduced revised styling, engines and cabin equipment in 1986. A minor update followed in 1989, while the TC facelift of 1991 brought a more modern front end and interior. Various naturally aspirated diesel engines were available, with capacities ranging from 2.0 to 3.0 litres depending on year and market.

The Trade occupied Nissan’s larger van and light-truck segment in Europe. It was known for its straightforward mechanical design, broad range of body styles and suitability for conversions and commercial bodies. Production continued until 2001, when the newer Interstar assumed its role in Nissan’s European van line-up.
