About Nissan NV200
The Nissan NV200 is a compact light commercial vehicle introduced in Japan in 2009 as the NV200 Vanette before expanding to Europe, Asia and North America. Developed as a global small van, it occupied the space below Nissan’s larger commercial vehicles. Its main users included urban delivery fleets, tradespeople, taxi operators and buyers needing practical passenger transport.
The model is based on one principal generation, identified by the M20 model code, although equipment, styling and powertrains varied by market. Versions included two-seat panel vans, crew or combi layouts and passenger models with up to seven seats, marketed in some regions as the Evalia. Taxi derivatives were also produced, including a version adapted for New York City. Petrol and diesel engines were offered, while the e-NV200 added a fully electric powertrain in cargo and passenger forms.
The NV200 is known for combining compact exterior dimensions with a tall, space-efficient body, sliding side doors and a low, accessible load floor. This packaging suited crowded urban areas while preserving useful cargo capacity. Named International Van of the Year 2010, it became an important part of Nissan’s global light-commercial range. Production took place in several regions, with names, specifications and availability differing considerably between countries.
