About Mitsubishi Endeavor
The Mitsubishi Endeavor is a five-seat midsize crossover SUV developed primarily for North America. Introduced for the 2004 model year and sold through 2011, it was assembled at Mitsubishi’s plant in Normal, Illinois. It represented the brand’s move towards car-based utility vehicles, offering more road-focused manners than a traditional body-on-frame SUV.
The Endeavor remained in a single generation throughout its run, receiving styling and equipment updates rather than a full redesign. All versions used a 3.8-litre V6 and a four-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive and full-time all-wheel drive were offered, depending on trim and model year. The range initially included LS, XLS and Limited grades, while later line-ups used LS and SE designations. Updates brought revised exterior details, additional safety equipment and more convenience features.
Within Mitsubishi’s range, the Endeavor occupied the midsize crossover class, above the smaller Outlander and alongside the brand’s more rugged SUVs. It is known for its roomy cabin, useful cargo area, strong V6 response and relatively car-like ride and handling. Distinctive exterior and dashboard styling also separated it from many contemporary family crossovers. The model suited buyers seeking five-seat SUV practicality without the size or off-road emphasis of a larger utility vehicle.
