About MINI Countryman
Introduced in 2010, the MINI Countryman is a compact premium SUV that brought greater space and versatility to the MINI range. It was the brand’s first model with four side doors, a large tailgate and optional ALL4 all-wheel drive, combining an elevated seating position with familiar MINI design cues and responsive handling.
The Countryman is the largest and most practical vehicle in MINI’s line-up. Its five-seat cabin, flexible rear seating and useful luggage area make it better suited to family travel and longer journeys than the brand’s smaller hatchbacks. Three generations have been produced. Depending on generation and market, the range has included Cooper, Cooper S and performance-focused John Cooper Works versions, along with front-wheel-drive and ALL4 configurations. The second generation introduced MINI’s first plug-in hybrid in 2017.
Production of the third generation began at BMW Group Plant Leipzig in Germany in late 2023, making it the first MINI manufactured entirely in Germany. This generation is offered with combustion engines or fully electric power, with availability varying by country. It is known for blending SUV practicality, distinctive styling, customisation options and compact dimensions relative to many family SUVs.
