About MINI Aceman

The MINI Aceman is a five-door, five-seat battery-electric crossover introduced in 2024. Known internally as the J05, it was created as a new model rather than an electric version of an existing petrol car. At just over four metres long, it sits between the smaller MINI Cooper and larger MINI Countryman, giving the brand a compact crossover for urban and everyday family use.

The range launched with Aceman E and SE versions, which differ in power, battery capacity and driving range. The higher-performance John Cooper Works Aceman later broadened the line-up, while equipment grades vary by market. All versions are fully electric and front-wheel drive, with no combustion-engine equivalent. Initial production began in Zhangjiagang, China, through Spotlight Automotive, a BMW Group and Great Wall Motor joint venture.

Key qualities include a short exterior footprint, five-door practicality and a more upright cabin than the Cooper. The rear seats fold to expand the 300-litre luggage compartment to as much as 1,005 litres. The interior follows MINI’s current design approach, centred on a circular OLED display and simplified dashboard. Overall, the Aceman fills the smaller crossover role in MINI’s electric range, combining city-friendly dimensions with useful passenger and cargo space.
