About Mercedes-Benz VLE

The Mercedes-Benz VLE is a battery-electric premium MPV introduced in 2026 as the first model based on the brand’s modular and scalable Van Architecture. Mercedes-Benz calls it a Grand Limousine, reflecting its combination of flexible MPV accommodation with the ride comfort and handling character of a luxury saloon. It is designed for family, leisure and executive-shuttle use.

Series production began in June 2026 at Mercedes-Benz’s Vitoria plant in Spain, alongside the V-Class, Vito and eVito. China-specific production in Fuzhou is scheduled to follow later in 2026. As a new model line, the 2026 VLE represents its first generation and introduces the architecture intended to underpin future private and commercial Mercedes-Benz vans.

Initial versions include the VLE 300 electric and all-wheel-drive VLE 400 4MATIC electric. Depending on market, specifications include standard, EXCLUSIVE, AMG Line and AMG Line Plus variants. Seating layouts accommodate five to eight occupants, while a longer body is planned for 2027. Notable qualities include dual sliding rear doors, a configurable cabin, 800-volt technology, rear-axle steering, available AIRMATIC air suspension and the MB.OS digital platform. The VLE fills the premium electric people-carrier role, with the future VLS positioned above it.
