About Mercedes-Benz GLC

The Mercedes-Benz GLC is a premium mid-size SUV in the brand’s core range, positioned above the compact GLA and GLB and below the larger GLE. Introduced in 2015 as the successor to the GLK, it serves as the SUV counterpart to the C-Class in size and market role.

The first generation was offered as a conventional SUV and, from 2016, as the more sharply styled GLC Coupé. The second-generation SUV entered production in 2022, with a new Coupé following in 2023. An all-electric GLC with EQ Technology joined the range in 2026, alongside combustion-engine and hybrid models.

Depending on market and model year, the GLC family has included petrol and diesel engines, mild hybrids, plug-in hybrids, rear- or all-wheel drive, and Mercedes-AMG performance versions. The Coupé exchanges some rear space and cargo versatility for a lower roofline, while the standard SUV is the more practical body style.

The GLC is known for comfortable and refined road manners, a well-finished cabin, modern infotainment and driver-assistance technology, and useful everyday space. It occupies an important middle ground in the Mercedes-Benz SUV line-up, providing more room and comfort than the compact models without the larger dimensions of the GLE.
