About Mercedes-Benz EQA
The Mercedes-Benz EQA is a five-seat compact electric SUV introduced in 2021. Developed as the battery-electric counterpart to the GLA, it combines a familiar premium crossover format with an electric powertrain. It served as an accessible entry point to Mercedes-Benz’s electric SUV range, positioned below the larger EQB, EQE SUV and EQS SUV.
The EQA was produced as a single generation, known by the H243 model code. Manufacturing began at Mercedes-Benz’s Rastatt plant in Germany, with additional production in Beijing for the Chinese market. Its design and underlying architecture are closely related to the second-generation GLA rather than a dedicated electric-vehicle platform.
Depending on the market and model year, the range included the front-wheel-drive EQA 250 and longer-range EQA 250+, along with dual-motor EQA 300 4MATIC and EQA 350 4MATIC versions. A 2023 update, introduced for the 2024 model year, brought revised styling, efficiency improvements, updated MBUX technology and equipment changes.
The EQA is known for compact dimensions, a refined cabin, quiet operation and everyday usability. Its mix of premium features, manageable size and available all-wheel drive placed it among compact luxury electric crossovers aimed at urban use, commuting and general family transport.
