About Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is an executive car positioned between the smaller C-Class and the flagship S-Class. Its direct predecessors formed the core of the brand’s upper-mid-size range from 1947, while the E-Class name was formally introduced in 1993 on the updated W124 series. The model has since become one of Mercedes-Benz’s main business and long-distance cars.

Modern generations comprise the W124, W210, W211, W212, W213 and current W214, introduced in 2023. The range has primarily centred on saloon and estate body styles. Depending on the generation and market, it has also included coupés, cabriolets and the raised E-Class All-Terrain estate. Mercedes-AMG versions add higher-performance engines, chassis tuning and distinctive styling.

Powertrain availability has covered petrol and diesel engines, rear- or all-wheel drive, and increasingly electrified systems, including plug-in hybrids. Specifications vary considerably by model year and region. Production has long been closely associated with Mercedes-Benz’s Sindelfingen plant in Germany.

The E-Class is known for combining passenger comfort, refined road manners and practical everyday use. It often introduces advanced safety, driver-assistance, infotainment and convenience technology below the S-Class, while offering more space and long-distance capability than the C-Class.
