About Mercedes-Benz AMG GT
The Mercedes-AMG GT is a high-performance sports car developed by Mercedes-AMG. Introduced in 2014, it followed the SLS AMG as the division’s core dedicated sports car, combining front-engine proportions with a strong focus on handling, performance and everyday usability.
The first generation was offered as a two-seat coupé and roadster. Most versions used a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 and rear-wheel drive. The range included the GT, GT S and GT C, alongside more track-focused GT R, GT R Pro and Black Series models. Racing-derived aerodynamics, lightweight construction and a distinctive long-bonnet design became key characteristics.
The second-generation coupé debuted in 2023. It adopted a more practical 2+2 layout, increased comfort and luggage capacity, and introduced fully variable all-wheel drive on major V8 versions. The broader range has included the four-cylinder GT 43, V8-powered GT 55, GT 63 and GT 63 Pro, plus the GT 63 S E Performance plug-in hybrid.
The separately developed AMG GT 4-Door Coupé extended the GT name to a larger fastback with rear seats and greater touring practicality. Across its forms, the AMG GT occupies the upper end of the Mercedes-AMG line-up, positioned as a grand touring sports car with genuine circuit capability.
