About Mercedes-Benz Accelo
Mercedes-Benz Accelo is a family of cab-over light and medium-duty trucks introduced in Brazil in 2003. It continued the role of the brand’s popular 710 “Mercedinho” in urban distribution and short regional work. Compact dimensions, a low loading platform and good manoeuvrability place it below the larger Atego in Mercedes-Benz’s Brazilian truck range.
The line has evolved through major updates rather than a single global generation sequence. Early versions included the 715 and 915. The range later centred on the 815 and 1016, with the 1316 6x2 added for higher payload needs. Euro 6 models adopted the 817, 1017 and 1317 names. A new generation launched for the 2025 portfolio introduced the 917, 1117 and 1417 6x2, covering gross vehicle weights from about 9 to 14 tonnes.
Depending on version, the Accelo is offered with 4x2 or 6x2 drive, short or extended cabs, several wheelbases and manual or automated transmissions. It is known for urban agility, body flexibility and suitability for stop-start delivery routes, while also serving short intercity and rural operations. Within the lineup, it bridges compact city trucks and larger medium-duty vehicles.
