About Mazda Mazda6e
The Mazda6e is a battery-electric midsize five-door hatchback with a fastback-style profile. Unveiled for Europe in January 2025 and launched there later that year, it is the European-market counterpart of the Mazda EZ-6 introduced in China. The model was developed through Mazda’s long-standing partnership with Changan Automobile and is produced by their Changan Mazda joint venture in China.
The Mazda6e is currently in its first generation. It uses a rear-wheel-drive electric layout and is offered in market-dependent battery and trim combinations. These include standard and Long Range versions in parts of Europe, along with Takumi and Takumi Plus equipment grades. Battery capacity, charging performance and driving range can vary by country and model year.
Within Mazda’s range, the Mazda6e fills the midsize passenger-car role and continues the design-led positioning associated with the Mazda6 name. It differs from Mazda’s electric SUVs by combining saloon-like proportions with the practicality of a large rear hatch. Notable qualities include flowing Kodo-inspired styling, a minimalist cabin, connected controls, driver-assistance technology and handling tuned to retain Mazda’s emphasis on linear responses and driver engagement.
