About Mazda CX-6e
The Mazda CX-6e is a battery-electric crossover SUV introduced in 2026 for selected markets, initially including Europe, with Australia also planned. It is based on the Mazda EZ-60 shown in China in 2025 and was developed through Mazda’s collaboration with Chongqing Changan Automobile. It is the second model in this collaborative global EV range after the Mazda6e.
As a new nameplate, the CX-6e is in its first generation. It occupies the larger, family-oriented SUV end of Mazda’s electric range, complementing the Mazda6e sedan and broadening the brand’s battery-electric offering. European versions use rear-wheel drive, a 190 kW motor and a 78 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. Initial grades include Takumi and Takumi Plus, with equipment varying by country.
The model combines a practical crossover format with Mazda-focused styling and chassis tuning. Notable features include a wide digital cockpit, voice and gesture controls, advanced driver-assistance systems and, on some versions, digital side mirrors. Its design follows the “Future + Soul x Modern” concept, while European ride and handling were tuned to retain Mazda’s emphasis on driver engagement. Differences mainly concern trim, wheel size and market-specific equipment rather than separate body styles or powertrain families.
