About Maserati MC12 Stradale
The Maserati MC12 Stradale is a two-seat, mid-engined supercar produced in 2004 and 2005 as the road-going counterpart to the MC12 GT1. Its primary purpose was to homologate Maserati’s return to international GT racing, making it a competition-led halo model rather than a conventional series-production sports car.
Only 50 examples were built, divided equally between the two production years. The MC12 used technology derived from the Ferrari Enzo, but Maserati substantially revised the engine, chassis and aerodynamics. Its long-tail carbon-fibre body, removable hardtop and characteristic white-and-blue finish gave it a distinct identity. The naturally aspirated 5,998 cc V12 produced 630 hp, with a stated top speed of 330 km/h.
The Stradale was the road-legal model in the MC12 programme, alongside the GT1 racing car. Maserati later introduced the track-only MC12 Versione Corse in 2006, but this was a separate, non-road-homologated derivative.
Within Maserati’s range, the MC12 sat above the brand’s regular grand tourers as an extreme, low-volume flagship. It is especially known for its direct motorsport connection, carbon-fibre monocoque, rarity and dramatic proportions. Its design and engineering prioritised racing-derived performance over everyday versatility.
