About Maserati Levante
The Maserati Levante is a five-door luxury performance SUV and the first SUV produced by Maserati. Introduced in 2016, it expanded the Italian marque beyond sports cars and executive saloons into the premium SUV segment. Production took place at the Mirafiori plant in Turin, Italy, and ended in 2024. After a smaller SUV joined the range, the Levante continued as Maserati’s larger and more powerful SUV offering.
All versions used an eight-speed automatic transmission and Q4 all-wheel drive. Powertrain availability varied by year and market. The range included twin-turbo petrol V6 engines, a V6 diesel in selected regions, a four-cylinder 48-volt mild hybrid and 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 models. Early versions carried Levante and Levante S names, while later line-ups used GT, Modena, Modena S and Trofeo grades. The GTS and Trofeo were the principal high-performance V8 variants, while final-year Ultima editions marked the end of production in some markets.
The Levante was positioned as a distinctive alternative in the upper luxury SUV class. It combined Maserati’s grand-touring character with a spacious cabin, useful luggage capacity and all-weather traction. Notable features included frameless door windows, adjustable air suspension, a mechanical limited-slip rear differential and road-focused handling.
