About Maserati GranTurismo
The Maserati GranTurismo is a four-seat, two-door luxury grand tourer designed to combine sports-car performance with comfort for long-distance travel. Introduced as a model name in 2007, it became one of Maserati’s most recognisable modern cars, with low coupé proportions, a long bonnet and a refined cabin.
The first generation remained in production until 2019. Its range evolved through standard, S, Sport and performance-focused MC versions, all using naturally aspirated V8 engines. The current generation was unveiled in 2022, initially built in Turin before production returned to Maserati’s historic Modena plant in 2025.
Depending on the market, current variations include a twin-turbo V6 model, the more powerful Trofeo and the fully electric Folgore. All use all-wheel drive and retain the model’s four-seat layout. The Folgore was especially significant as Maserati’s first series-production battery-electric car.
Within the brand’s range, the GranTurismo serves as a flagship grand touring coupé rather than a stripped-back sports car. It is known for balancing strong performance and responsive handling with cabin comfort, everyday usability and distinctive Italian styling. This blend places it in the high-end luxury performance market, aimed at drivers who want both touring ability and sporting character.
