The Lincoln Z is a mid-size luxury sedan developed specifically for the Chinese market. Previewed by the Zephyr Reflection concept in 2021, the production car debuted later that year as the Lincoln Zephyr and entered the market as the Lincoln Z in 2022. It became Lincoln’s first locally produced sedan in China, reflecting the brand’s shift towards vehicles tailored to regional preferences.
The Z has remained in its first generation, with periodic equipment and powertrain updates rather than a full redesign. Early models were offered in iCool and iEnjoy forms, which used distinct styling details to emphasise either a sportier or more refined character. The range initially featured a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. A petrol-electric hybrid joined the line-up in 2024, adding an efficiency-focused alternative with an electronic continuously variable transmission.
Within Lincoln’s predominantly SUV-focused range, the Z serves as the brand’s main conventional saloon. It occupies the competitive premium mid-size segment and provides a China-only successor in spirit to earlier Lincoln sedans such as the MKZ, although it is a separate model designed for a different market context.
