About Lincoln MKX
The Lincoln MKX is a midsize, two-row luxury crossover introduced for the 2007 model year. It was Lincoln’s first production crossover and combined five-seat SUV practicality with the comfort-focused character expected from the brand. Built in Oakville, Ontario, it shared its basic architecture with the Ford Edge but used distinct styling, interior materials, equipment and chassis tuning.
Two generations were offered. The first covered model years 2007–2015 and received a substantial update for 2011. The second arrived for 2016 with a redesigned body, a more refined cabin and expanded driver-assistance and convenience technology. For 2019, an extensive update brought a new name: Lincoln Nautilus.
Depending on model year, the MKX was available with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Earlier versions used naturally aspirated V6 engines, while the second generation offered a 3.7-litre V6 or an optional twin-turbocharged 2.7-litre V6. Later models were sold in Premiere, Select, Reserve and Black Label specifications, with equipment varying by year and market.
Within Lincoln’s range, the MKX served as the brand’s core midsize utility vehicle, positioned above the later compact MKC and below larger models such as the MKT and Navigator. It is chiefly known for a spacious cabin, composed road manners, strong available V6 performance and comfort-oriented features, including an available panoramic glass roof.
