About Koenigsegg
Koenigsegg is a Swedish manufacturer of ultra-low-volume hypercars, founded by Christian von Koenigsegg in 1994 and based in Ängelholm, Sweden. The company builds a small number of highly bespoke cars each year, with a strong focus on performance, advanced engineering and in-house technical development.
Today, Koenigsegg’s range centres on extreme performance cars rather than conventional passenger vehicles. Current models include the Jesko Attack, Jesko Absolut, CC850 and Gemera. The Jesko line is focused on track performance and high-speed capability, while the Gemera extends the brand into a rare four-seat grand touring format with hypercar-level output. The CC850 combines modern Koenigsegg technology with design references to the early CC8S.
Well-known earlier models include the CC8S, CCR, CCX, Agera, One:1 and Regera. These cars helped define Koenigsegg’s reputation for lightweight construction, powerful twin-turbo engines, unusual drivetrain solutions and record-focused development.
Koenigsegg occupies a niche position at the top end of the performance car market, competing with the most exclusive hypercar and megacar brands. Its cars are known for carbon-fibre construction, aerodynamic detail, compact high-output powertrains, distinctive doors and carefully engineered mechanical solutions. The brand is also associated with limited production, strong collector interest and a willingness to develop unconventional technologies rather than rely only on established supercar formulas.
